murma

murma is the solo project of 27-year old producer, artist and multi-instrumentalist Becky Wix, based in Brighton.

After two decades of honing her craft - with many years spent fronting all-female rock bands - Becky decided it was time to sit in the producer's seat so she could be the architect of her own sound.

It was important to her to be the change she wished to see - in an industry where only 2% of music producers are female.

Lockdown provided a time to focus, where she began unearthing what she calls her ‘Sonic DNA’.

‘The music we create is a personal concoction of every song we've ever loved. When I was growing up, my Dad listened to lots of funk and disco records… then I spent years playing in rock bands with strong riffs and basslines, and spent my early 20s dancing to electronic music in clubs… murma is the musical fusion of my life so far’.

Becky is currently self-producing her debut EP which she plans to release early next year.
